  1. Jim and Rene,
We are really sorry to read this post – we know just how much a dog can be a part of the family, and also how difficult it is when there is silence when you come home instead of the hearty and happy greeting that you are used to. You guys only had his best interest in mind always, and I’m so happy that you were the ones that took care of him during good and hard times, it must’ve been so comforting for him.

  2. I think losing our beloved animal friends are rehearsals God is giving us so that when we lose one another, we’ll understand that after time, there’s eventually, a place of peace, rebirth and even joy once again. Jerry was certainly a gift from God.
    Be well, you two!

  3. Jim and Rene,

We feel very sad. It brings me back to when I was a little boy who cried all night after losing his dog and best friend Brutus. I didn’t understand the concept of death but I knew my feelings and emotions were real.

We send you our love and thoughts, and from Fox and Spencer, a paw on your lap or arm, a lick on your face, their way of saying “Thanks” for being such great parents to their kind.

  4. For You and Jerry:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

  5. I am very sorry. Losing a family member is terrible. It is great that you were able to experience so much together, Not many pups are lucky enough to have mom and dad home to play with them all of the time, nor do they get to have the adventures that you were able to share with him. You guys will be in my thoughts today.

  10. Long Live Jerry! He will be sorely missed. And thanks to his Humans, for allowing him to live a full life, and to see the wolrd as no dog has before, and to finally be free forever… So long Jerry.
