As promised, in my last post with plenty of Carbon County Museum photos…
Do yourself a favor. If a placard in a museum says ask for a demonstration of any old equipment, ask! I’ve heard recordings of old cylinder phonographs, but never seen and heard one operate in person. Until now.
The Carbon County museum in Rawlins, Wyoming has a pristine Edison Phonograph Model 30, and the docent was kind enough to play it for us.
Another pretty one was placed safely out of reach.
But she didn’t mind me recording the one she played for you…
Recognize the Morse code I’m tapping out there? If not, learn it!
I like to stop at quirky museums too. You never know what you’ll find.
The quirkier the better! 🙂
