We had just completed a long, tiring, and thankfully uneventful drive from Southern California back to Colorado. We’ll be settled in for the next couple months. And it felt good to be “home” again after wintering down south. Rene and I actually celebrated as we pulled in. We congratulated ourselves for safely making the long journey back. Laughing, I said “we’re not done yet,” as we had not yet parked and set up. Once unhitched, we were both happy with another job well done. And then…

How Wolfbox Saved the Day

It wasn’t until two days later that Rene went to go run some errands. She came right back. She wasn’t happy. “You left your keys in the On position,” she grumbled. “Truck’s dead, I’m not going anywhere. <sigh>

Immediately, thoughts went to the hassle of getting roadside service to come out for a jump. Rene was already texting her friend nearby. Then I remembered the Wolfbox Jump Starter tucked under the seat in our truck. I also remembered how last year I meant to add a calendar reminder to check that and keep it charged up.

Well, I asked myself once again: can the Wolbox start a diesel truck? I was about to find out. I found out more than that. Rene wasn’t kidding when she said the battery was dead. No ding, and the gauges didn’t budge when I turned the key. Time to answer that question for good. Make that questions.

Drumroll Please…

First, did the Wolfbox hold a charge? It had been months since I’d even looked at it. Many months. I pushed the power button and grinned. The display read 100%. Next, to find out if the Wolbox can start a diesel truck. I hooked up the jumper cables and the box started beeping. What the? I discovered another cool feature of the WOLFBOX Jump Starter! The alarm notifies you that the battery is below 9V voltage. Ack. Like I said, dead. And, our Dodge Ram 2500 has two batteries.

How could this thing ever jump start our diesel truck. Enter discovery number two: Hold down the Boost button on the Wolfbox to do a force boost. No more beeping. Until that is, I turned the key. Ahh, the delightful dings of our diesel coming back to life.

Our truck turned over immediately with one turn of the key. The WOLFBOX 4000A MegaVolt24 Jump Starter saved the day indeed. Rene got to run her errands. And, I didn’t end up in the doghouse. Well, no more than to be expected at least.
