Bluegrass and Beer in Nashville

There’s so much to tell about the adventures we’re having on the vandwelling road to Tennessee and beyond. For now, here’s a shortie because we’re still recuperating from all the craziness at the Blog Paws Pet Blogger Conference in Nashville, which was made even more fun after discovering the real local music scene, not the squeaky clean pop country crap that’s glorified in all the tourist zones.

Sunday Night Bluegrass at the Station Inn

Here’s one little gem we found while playing tourist after the conference. The Sunday night bluegrass jam at the Station Inn. It’s located in the hipster 12 South neighborhood and is an unassuming, dark, dingy little bar — just our kinda place.

The music gets going around 7pm and you’d better get there early or you won’t find a seat.

By 8:30 everyone’s whooping it up in this friendly, smoke-free environment, which is apparently a new concept in tobacco-landia.

The musicians kept coming and going, playing non-stop through the night. As a bonus, there’s no cover charge to hear this genuine Americana music, which we loved of course!

Next time you’re in Nashville, be sure to swing into the Station Inn, you’ll love it.
